Rukudzo Lamp
Description
Rukudzo is a Shona name meaning respect, honour, and reverence a fitting name for a piece inspired by the enduring strength of ancient trees and the quiet beauty of nature.
Product Description
Rukudzo transforms the raw language of tree bark into an architectural lighting sculpture.
Rather than replicating a tree, the lamp abstracts it into a series of monumental bark monoliths that appear to have fractured apart over time. Hidden between these sculptural forms, a warm amber glow emerges from concealed light sources, creating the illusion that light is trapped within the wood itself.
Each bark monolith can be arranged freely, allowing the owner to create compositions that range from a dense glowing cluster to an open gallery installation. Every arrangement produces a different interplay of light, shadow and negative space, making Rukudzo as much an interactive sculpture as it is a floor lamp.
Crafted from hand-cast bark panels taken from real tree bark textures and mounted over an engineered internal structure, the piece balances natural irregularity with precise fabrication.
Designed as a collectible object, Rukudzo brings warmth, mystery and architectural presence to contemporary interiors.
