The Kavod Floor Lamp explores the relationship between weight, ornament and light. Its elongated body is formed from pale limestone, shaped into a softly irregular monolithic silhouette that preserves the stone’s natural pores, markings and tonal variation.

Traditional-inspired motifs are carved directly into the surface and finished with mineral inlays in oxblood, burnt terracotta, ochre and deep brown. Rather than covering the stone, these details appear selectively across the body, allowing the limestone to remain the dominant material while giving each lamp a distinct, hand-worked character.

Above the stone form, an exaggerated double-layer shade creates a dramatic sense of shelter and overlap. The two asymmetrical shells sit slightly off-axis, producing an uneven silhouette with a raw, hand-torn lower edge. Although visually substantial, the shade is engineered from a lightweight mineral composite over an aluminium framework, allowing it to maintain its sculptural scale without placing unnecessary weight on the stone body.

A concealed steel structure runs through the lamp, supporting the oversized shade and housing the electrical components. Warm, dimmable light is directed downward and reflected through the layered interior, creating a soft pool of illumination beneath the shade while emphasising the texture of the limestone and its coloured inlays.

Kavod is conceived as both a functional floor lamp and a collectible sculptural object. Natural variations in the stone, carved detailing and hand-applied finishes ensure that no two pieces are completely identical.
